View from the floor

The trouble with blogging is I get tired of my views all the time, so here is a selection of views from my almost-three-year-old, Emma, which she snapped before I could wrestle the digital camera away from her sticky hands.

Dad and big sister

Big sister and big window

My big leg

Big sister's little nap

Big Buddha and a big thumb

We enjoyed today's photos. Emma clearly has talent! Glad you liked The Double. I know you find the long sentences and paragraphs annoying, but did they really get in the way of your enjoyment of the book? You quite correctly say that he subverts normal narration by poking his nose in every now and again, but surely he does the same with his style, subverts normal conventions and creates his own. He is, after all, a romantic Communist (one of the few left) and a rebel! Anyway, you'll be pleased to know that he's just recovered from pneumonia (at 85) and has returned to writing his latest book! Shall we Skype on Sunday (12.00 our time - 20.00 yours) to discuss further?
Lots of love,
Dad and Margaret

Yes, Skype you then. I enjoyed the book despite the long paragraphs and quirky punctuation. They didn't ruin my enjoymentk, but just made the task of finding where I had left off reading the night before more arduous. Hardly a reason not to read the book, and I'll happily recommend it to others.
